Level II

Inner Transformation consists of three classes: Who Are You?, Why Are You? And When Are You? Level II class center on the study of masks, metaphors, maps of the Sefirot, and living in the present moment.

This year of study is designed for implementing  the insights of Kabbalah study into personal transformation that has effects both for the individual and  for their ‘community’.

Who Are You? Why Are You? And When Are You?

Who Are You? (Fall): In this class we return to the concept of Soul and look at it from a personal perspective.  The Kabbalah teaches that there are five levels of Soul (consciousness) and that the highest level of Soul is called Yechidah.  This Hebrew word means both uniqueness and connection—a level of consciousness in which one is unique in the awareness of their connection to the Divine. The study engages us to consider the masks we wear and who we are within those masks and who we would be without masks.

Why Are You? (Winter): In this class we return to the Tree of Life and learn through sharing personal examples of how to apply the Sefirot to our lives. The key to this inquiry is the realization that we are living inside of the metaphors (stories) we have created or have been created for us.

When Are You? (Spring): In this class we return to the teachings of living in the present moment and create a personal, spiritual mantra for daily use.

Level III – Advanced Seminars

Advanced seminars are open to ongoing students or students applying Kabbalah to specific interests.

Messiah and Messianic Age: What is the Jewish perspective on the Messiah and what has Kabbalah innovated in our understanding of the Messianic Age? We will trace the idea of the Messiah through the descriptions in Talmud and Midrash and then see the very divergent views about the Messiah from traditional Jewish and Kabbalistic sources. Winter: Messianic Movements Spring: Messianic Consciousness. Instructor: Dr. David Sanders

Manifesting Self: The study of metaphors deepens our capacity for spiritual transformation and moves those participants to change in their life which impacts themselves and their relationships.  Instructor:  Dr. David Sanders

Soul of Anatomy: In Kabbalah we are taught that the human body is an analog of God as it states in the creation of human beings, “In the image of God were they created.” There are 613 analogs in the Divine structure that parallel the human body. This year long class looks at the correspondences between body and soul and the meaning of the Mitzvot in creating our spiritual connection. Instructor: Dr. David Sanders

World Mystics: Explore the wisdom of varied mystical traditions from around the world. Each semester will focus on different traditions. Fall: Eastern Spiritual Paths—Hindu and Buddhist.  Winter: Western Spiritual Paths: Sufi, Christian and Jewish.  Spring: Nature Based Traditions: Native American, Aboriginal, African and Wiccan. Instructor:  Dr. Lorell Frysh

All classes are taught by Dr. David Sanders unless otherwise noted.
